What is Slow-Fire Pistol Shoot & it’s Rules?

This event takes place on the 50-yard range (front range). There is a $5 entry fee per category (centerfire and/or rimfire).

Course of Fire

The match will be preceded by a short practice/sighting-in period. The amount of practice time will be dependent on the number of shooters and determined by the match director.

Shooters will have the choice of rimfire, centerfire, or both. Each category will consist of two relays of ten shots each at 15 yards. Two targets fired for each shooter. Ten minutes will be allotted for each ten-round string, but cease-fire will be called once all shooters have completed string.

Shooting positions will be standing, one and two-arm holds with no artificial support.

Eligible pistols include any pistol with iron-sights.

Targets will be NRA 25-yard pistol targets (B-16) positioned at 15 yards.

  • Overall Size: 10.5 inches wide by 12 inches high. 
  • Bullseye Diameter: 5 5/16 inches (black). 
  • Target Type: Designed for slow-fire pistol shooting at a distance of 25 yards. 
  • Scoring Zones: The target includes rings for scoring, with the 10-ring being within the bullseye and other scoring rings extending outward. 
  • Paper Type: Typically printed on heavy tagboard paper.
